AW-Lake Introduces Clamp-on Ultrasonic Flow Meters

OAK CREEK, WI — AW-Lake presents a new collection of Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meters that secure on the exterior of horizontal or vertical pipes varying in size from 1/2″ through 48″. Housed in a water- and – dust-tight NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure, the Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meters are compatible with a variety of plastic and metal pipe materials and also”hard fluids” such as compounds, viscous fluids, and abrasives which would harm regular flow meters. Because of this, the non-intrusive, clamp-on ultrasonic detectors feature improved flow measurement with no pressure fall in a variety of programs like chemical or food processing plants, petroleum refineries, and much more.

Running from 100–240VAC, the Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meters offer you an isolated 4-20mA output signal that may transmit stream readings to distant displays, recorders, or controls. The programmable relays are usable for circulation control, pump flow or protection proportional pulse. Users can opt to exhibit and totalize flow readings from favored volumetric engineering units such as liters and gallons.

A 128MB data logger is regular, capable of catching around 26 million data points. Optional MODBUS® RTU through RS-485 or HART® communication protocols are available for connection to automation systems which empowers users to get instantaneous flow speed, volume and complete, run hours, and diagnostic data. Along with being protected, AW-Lake’s new Ultrasonic Flow Meters keep all preferences, worth, and levels in circumstances of power surges.

How It Works
In performance, the Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meters use the”distinct transit period” ultrasonic principle of measurement to quantify flow in the exterior of pipes by simply calculating the time of flight difference for ultrasonic noise pulses transmitted between two detectors that are placed on the measuring tube.

The moment the fluid in the tube begins to leak, the signs are accelerated in the direction of circulation, but postponed from the contrary direction. By comparing these gaps with precision timing circuits, the Ultrasonic Flow meter can correctly calculate the flow speed.
